Just a smile

It’s a ray of hope in clouds of gloom
Pacemaker for forlorn hearts
Smile is the elixir of every nemesis
Simplifies, unites every language in a common exegesis

Chortle of an infant
Chuckle of the ‘paramour’
Light's your day
As if there’s bloom in May

Smile can be wicked too
That of boss who hands you the pink slip
Of an enemy in the garb of a friend
Like the rain before lightning
This variety can be very frightening

Smile now a days is kept in check by stress
From corporate honcho to downtown rogue
Everyone is engulfed in this mess
So, laughter clubs, shows are in vogue

Laugh, chuckle, guffaw, chortle
Are synonyms of gift given by HIM
Use it judiciously, like salt in brine
It can make a pauper feel king, make weeping smile
