The word students dread
They shiver & sweat in distress
Exams are an affliction that’s widespread
You fell as if under duress

Exams test what you learnt
Or in most cases
What was left unlearnt
The wounds they give , leave no traces.

Exams are about determination
Aim high, with fists clinched
You get what you want
If you don’t flinch

Knowledge is a journey
Marks are the ultimate destination
Hard work helps, so perspire
Parents with their admiration & admonition
Never really tire

So, what if you flunked
Life is about mistakes
And from them what you learned
Like the phoenix from the ashes
Resurrect thy soul ,hardened and stern
Success follows those who learn from the crashes
Not those who unlearn what they learned.

In the end , it doesn’t matter whether you pass or fail
Life is a competitive exam
Which everyone has to give
Compete with urself, not sirs & mam
You’ll pass , if you know how to live
Life is about those who can hold their nerve
Live to the fullest
With an eternal verve.
