DHOOM2: All Style No Substance

Yes that's what it is, just a sleek version of the age old hackneyed plot of 'chor-sipahi'.The film starts with sub -inspector Uday Chopra being rescued from criminals by Junior B who in the film has finicky pregnant wife in Rimi Sen.

The star attraction of the movie is Hrithik Roshan who looks like a Greek God in those ripping muscles and an envious six-pack. He plays the 'perfect' thief who is obsessed with rare artifacts.

The film revolves around him and his connection with aish a.k.a 'sonehri' who tries to double-cross him. Hrithik is in a class of his own, he is one of the cardinal reasons for this film becoming a hit.

Aishwarya looks as if she had been starved and Uday Chopra on the contrary, seems to have gorged on the delicacies offered by dearest Bhaiya( talking about food only!!!!) .

Bips looked quite sexy and apt for the role, the slapstick and at times cheesy comic scenes of her with Uday Chopra were far better than stone faced theatrics of AB.

The climax had a bit of a novelty factor which was squandered to bring an illogical happy ending to the proceedings.

All in all this movie is a good timepass but don't expect it to be better than the earlier one.

All you guys who happen to study in amity univ. are in for a earth- shattering surpriz. From now on, you will have wear shirts and trousers when you come in the college campus so that you look presentable as if till now you looked like a rag-picker!
Their argument is that the head honchos of top MNCs come for scouting young talents, but what is disgusting is that haven't those corporates been through the' jeans and T' phase of their college life and does wearing shirts make someone more accomplished.
If you feel that something like minis etc. of girls are provocative then they should be individually counselled and anyways something which is asthetic for one can be provocative for another. There is no need for these pristine regulations, the youth of the country is intelligent enough to know what to wear!!

yes, guys today is 15 th august, our independence day , we as a nation are now 60 years old with more more than 50% of our population below 25 ,which means majority of us are younger than our nation,which incidentally implies that most our generation is unaware of the hardships taken by the freedom fighters to make ourselves free, but thanks to our bollywood movies, notably karma, lagaan and the latest rage rang de basanti that have made the youngsters aware about the importance of freedom.

Enuf of rhetoric!!! for me itwas a day meant for flying kites from dawn to dusk, I used to climb the terrace at around 600 hrs (yes!its true) , with my cousins and around 100 kites most of which were left untouched at the end of the day.There I was assingned the task of reconnaissance on the sky , so that if any kite is about to come perilously close(peche lagane)to ours than I should warn him.

Songs blared from the decks and everything around was so festive, and jovial.

But now, thanks to computers, video games, t.v. and the grave yard shifts of the BPOs that turn them into nocturnal creatures, people have forgotten the rudimentary pleasures of flying a kite, of feeling a sense of freedom from all the earthly belongings, of becoming one with the infinite.
And for all those erudite scholars , here is the president's speech, before going about changing the nation , fighting war on the border,learn celebrate freedom desi ishtyle!! as for me, I had a great day with 10 kills and 4 casualties (i am talking about the kites)!!!

The recent attempts by the Islamic terrorists ( that’s what they proclaim themselves) to blow aircrafts by mixing some aerosol gels and then triggering with an ipod or cellphone has shocked the whole World.

This attack has led to a world where wars, terrorist attacks will revolve around sophisticated chemical weapons which can be mixed and detonated by devices as innocuous as ipods. Nail polish removers, disinfectants and hair coloring dyes contain chemicals that can be highly explosive which even the ‘sniffer’ machines cannot detect. This will also be a major concern for people carrying cell phones, laptops as they will be scrutinized, and won’t be allowed to take them in the cabin as anyone can go in the toilet and attach their cell phone to their favorite beverage( apparently the terrorists were carrying the liquid gel in a Gatorade bottle) and there you have the right concoction for destruction!

Pakistani British citizens have been apprehended with one of them working for the jet airways.
They are alleged to have helped the perpetrators get on the plane. Terror has acquired a whole new dimension now, they are now well acquainted with latest pernicious technological advancements, thanks to their ever expanding network. Even well educated, well heeled people are getting fooled by these so called jehadis who promise jannat for killing thousands of innocent people, obliterating cities, making infants motherless. No religion proclaims killing innocent humans as a detour to nirvana, yet they have successfully managed to create a nefarious network. But ultimately they are defaming Islam and the whole muslim community.

Now , the govts. will have to keep an eye on the students enrolling in the masters and research programmes of the various universities. The recent report of CSE claims that the pesticide residue in soft-drinks has shot up to 23 times than that of bottled drinking water with virulent chemicals like lindane, heptachlor and chlorpyrifos found well above the permissible limits. This menace is not just limited to colas ,even milk and vegetables you buy from the road-side vendor are replete with harmful chemicals. Contamination occurs due to various reasons: overuse of pesticides by farmers, industrial sludge, air contamination and use of pesticides for storing food-grains. The contamination has become so deep rooted in our genetic configuration that even mother’s breast milk has a very high DDT content.

There has to be a drastic change in our jet-setting lifestyle we eat what we get, irrespective of its long term affect on our health. The younger generation especially the school, college going crowd virtually lives off colas. They have become such an integral part of our life that we don’t even bother to think that what we are drinking can lead us to diseases like cancer. Students throng McDonalds and Nirulas, guzzle pints of these deadly beverages, without realizing its consequences. Also, these drinks are a rich source of empty calories. We should switch to healthier drinks like fruit juices,flavoured milk etc.. But the problem is that these college students don’t want their peers to sneer at them for drinking lassi, nariyal panni.

We should switch to organic fruits and vegetables even though they may be a bit heavy on the pocket but considering the long term implications, it’s a fairdeal. Also, farmers should be encouraged to switch to organic farming.

The government’s decision to ban on employment of children under 14 years of age has polarized the concerned agencies, who on one side feel that it is a step towards ameliorating the conditions of these infants but on the other hand it calls for proper rehabilitation of these children, basic health care and primary education which will not let then recede into the ignominy of ‘bonded labor’ in households in metros.

Also there is a huge flaw in govt.’s policy as employing a child in an industry is not termed as hazardous& is therefore not banned, but ‘regulated’. Who will decide which industry is hazardous or non-hazardous? This will decided by the venerable clerks and babus whose opinion vacillate by applying grease on their hands(money).

This problem is actually deep rooted in our economy in which there is an abject contrast between the rich & poor. Until, that gap is narrowed down there is no choice for a daily wage labourer to send his children to work.

The latest incident of Indians being hounded out of Nepal by the rebel Maoists shows the ingratitude of the Nepalis towards India’s benevolence. Nepal’s economy is running primarily on casinos, which are mostly run by Indians. We (Indians)didn’t go their to become an illegal immigrant, an insidious accomplice to the terrorist. Indians there are adding value to Nepal’s economy. Ousting Indians which has the largest Hindu population from ,Nepal which ironically is the only Hindu state in the World will be a major dent to its tourism. We as a country, have never objected of nepalis, Bangladeshis working in our premises usurping the jobs of millions of Indians who are poor,destitute.

The root cause of these problems is our inherent tolerance, broad-mindedness, the Vasudev Katumbkum philosophy which assimilates people of multifarious interest, demographics into our mainland. But now its high time, that Nepal, Bangladesh, which a favourite en route for terrorists and contraband drugs to India, & Pakistan should be made clear once and for all that India’s clemency is not their fundamental right to impunity.

But all said and done, these bikes won't give us the thrill of cruising at 300kms. or thereabouts, or the luxury of travelling long distances without worrying about discharging.

so, although it is a welcome change but it won't we able to replace the Ninjas and the Hayabusas in coming future.

At this moment whenIndia is under the scourge of terror as a result of the 7/11 blasts, the latest investigations are presenting a whole new picture about the real driving force of the terrorists.

A 26 year old doctor Mohd. Shabbir Ahmed , was arrested from a small district Malegaon in Nasik, in connection with May 15 RDX seizure in Aurangabad. He is a computer geek and was a ‘key figure’ in maintaining regular contacts with terror modules, according to an official of anti-terrorist squad.

This presents a really sordid picture that terrorism is not spread by dogmatic beliefs, hardliners but the main culprit behind the proliferation of this menace in countries like India, Bangladesh are poverty and unemployment.

In Malegaon, for e.g., where most people have long been fighting abject poverty, illiteracy and unemployment. So it is quite natural that if majority of the people are struggling to arrange 2 meals a day, and with almost zero job opportunities, there will be some who are likely to fall prey in the hands of anti- national elements.

The govt. is blaming the intelligence agencies I.B., R.A.W for chinks in their information network but in reality is the govt., that has failed to provide basic primary education, employment guarantee to the youth especially muslims, who are then inclined towards joining these jehadi terrorists ( as they call themselves) not because they have to wage a war for jehad or anything of that sort, but because these organizations provide means for their sustenance and for their family.

According to reports from a leading daily, an estimated 200 plus youth from various parts of maharashtra , had been sent for arms training across the border in the past year or so.

The suicide bombers are guaranteed complete financial security of their families, which propels them to the so called ‘martyrdom’.
So, it is not just the fanatical mindset of the perpetrators, but the financial implications of the whole nexus that pushes the youth into this inferno.

It’s high time, that the govt. looks seriously into this matter, only then we can extirpate this nemesis from its roots.
